Central Otago and West Coast Schist

New Zealand Schist is sourced from throughout the South Island and comes in an array of colours from greys, through to browns, golds and even reds. Schist stones are commonly named for the region in which they are found such as Tarras, Haast, Canterbury and West Coast. With so many options, you can choose a strong contrast or subtle blend to compliment your home or building.

Our River Stone is hand-picked from the Hutt River – a sustainable source of stone because it helps prevent the Hutt River from flooding. As with all river stones, there is a range of natural colours in the mix and a full range of sizes. River Stone is ideal for retaining walls, landscaping, new builds, letter boxes and fireplaces.

Greywacke is New Zealand’s most common natural stone which amongst other things form the hills and coast of the Wellington region. Our Greywacke is hand-picked from the local quarries of Wellington. Its clean, hard grey colour is a natural wonder – ideal for new builds, landscaping, fireplaces, retaining walls and letter boxes.

Te Kuiti Limestone is sourced from the King Country in the central North Island and is similar in appearance to Mediterranean Limestone with soft greys through to creamy white and beige tones. It works beautifully as external cladding and retaining walls, as well as for internal walls, fireplaces and even bathrooms.
